JACK HARROD

Jack founded Braintree Futsal Academy in 2016 after discovering a passion for the sport through his friend Ben Madden. At the time, he was working within the academy at Ipswich Town Football Club and recognised how few opportunities there were for young players to experience futsal locally.

Over the following decade, the academy grew into a complete club, with a pathway from U6 to U19 and two senior teams competing nationally. Jack’s proudest moments include the club’s first session, international trips and trophies, establishing the senior team and seeing academy players progress into England’s youth pathways.

Alongside his role as Founder & Chairman, Jack remains passionate about coaching. Braintree Futsal has always been a commitment alongside his working and family life, driven by his enjoyment of developing players and creating opportunities.

Inspired by futsal culture across Europe, Jack wants Braintree to develop dedicated futsal players and support those with ambitions to pursue the sport professionally. His hope for the next decade is to see English futsal move closer to becoming a professional sport, while Braintree continues to build its pathway and a genuine futsal culture.
