Braintree Futsal Club shared the points with Southend after an entertaining 5–5 Essex derby on Sunday 25 October 2026.
Braintree raced into an early 3–0 lead, but the visitors pulled two goals back before the break to leave the hosts 3–2 ahead at half-time.
Twice back on level terms
Southend continued their comeback after the interval and moved into a 4–3 lead. Braintree responded to make it 4–4, then had to find another equaliser after the visitors edged ahead again at 5–4.
With the score level at 5–5, Braintree enjoyed plenty of possession in the closing stages and created several chances to take all three points. The woodwork intervened on multiple occasions, while Southend’s goalkeeper produced some excellent saves to keep the scores level.
Hadley takes Player of the Match
Hadley Quattrucci scored twice and was named Braintree’s Player of the Match. Segun Olofinjana, Rafi Bookbinder and Nico Cespedes each added a goal to complete the hosts’ five-goal tally.
A point and a trip to Kent
It was a great game for the neutral, but a frustrating result for Braintree after the early lead and late opportunities. The First Team now turn their attention to an away match against Kent.
